Let the Good Times Roll

Big News This last week Dempsey Rae took her FIRST steps!
We wondered if her tiny feet would ever be able to hold up that chubby body,
and apparently it can.
She is walking at 9 months!

2nd big news
She got her first toofy {that's what we call it}

She is taking such great care of it
everyday by sucking on it with her KISS toothbrush.
It's a pretty cute little toofy.

9 mo. stats;
18.2 lbs
40th percentile for weight
20th for height
25th for brain size
A very proportionate little girl
Matching Converse
{Demps and Dad}

I've decided there is nothing sweeter
than
little girls patten leather sunday shoes

and
little girls running around in their slips
after church

This face
Says it all

Happy V-Day

Happy Late Valentines Day!

The Other day
I went into the Kitchen to find this peeking out from under the table

But at least
she found something healthy to eat while she was down there
And then she found something unhealthy{chocolate chip}
But at least she was having fun
ps I really do clean my floor at least once a day
We have been practicing using the sippy cup
we don't really drink out of it
We just chew on the spout

This is Dempsey's favorite spot in the house
She loves loves loves to suck on the glass...
and to see what's going on outside

This is a new trick she is working on
Standing on objects

She's getting pretty good at it
And I'm afraid she is taking after her father with this next one
She loves to be NAKIE
Everynight before bed we let her run wild in the birthday suit,
it's pretty much her favorite time of day..... I'm a tad bit worried for when
she figures out how to undress herself..

Nakie standing on something= Heaven
oh how I love those chubby toes

Oh how we love our Sweet Dempsey Rae

Bangs

Yes, it's time for Dempsey's first bangs. Kinda. She came to the salon with chris while he a haircut, and I decided she needed a bang trim. ( When straight they are down past her eyes)
However
Chris informed me that we did not have our camera
and we would not be giving Dempsey her first "haircut" without it,
So I curled them instead
I think she looks pretty darn cute with curled bangs.
Yes I know they are alittle poofy and 80's flashbackish but still......
Dempsey always trys to eat everthing she can get get her little hands on,
apparently even me!

This
is all I have been doing for the past week:Chris finally converted me over to the Cosby Show. I feel like I am part of the huxtable family because I love it so much! My mother in law gave us 7 of the seasons for Christmas and I am obsessed! I can't get enough of the Cosby show!
I can't get enough of THIS either:

THIS is how we spend friday nights at our house:

We pull Dempsey around in her sled. You see, she doesn't really like going sledding outside, so much; so we improvise. And it works out great. She loves it.

I love THIS picture

She looks like a queen riding in her chariot.

And THIS
is how sweet life is!

As I rock my sweet baby to sleep tonight
I cry
My heart aches
For another mother
Who Rocked her sweet baby for the last time today

He is perfect,
happy, and in a better place
Free
from sorrow and pain
He has wings
to FLY

Still
It doesn't seem fair
So for now
I cry and Ache for his mother

Our thoughts and Prayers are with you
Katie and Jason
We love you.

Christmas

T'was the week before Christmas, as we headed out, to see our family up north... Okay enough of that, it would take me all night to rhyme this whole thing!
We got to go visit Chris' family in Idaho the week before Christmas,
we love going to visit our Idaho family...
Especially Dempsey
Especially Dempsey when they close the freeway down creating a 3 hour delay
So needless to say the drive up was rather stressful, and we were all happy to arrive!
Every year growing up my amazing mother made each of her seven daughters matching Christmas dresses. So I decided to make (or to attempt) Dempsey's Christmas dress.
Let's just say I barely finished it, (mostly thanks to my mom) and in the process I learned how much I took for granted our Christmas dresses every year. I remember going to sleep everynight through the months of Nov. thru Dec. listening to the hum of my mom's sewing machine. My amazing mother dear gave so much hard work and sacrifice so that we could all have new Christmas (and Easter) dresses. This might not sound like alot, but after making 1 Christmas dress, I am so filled of gratitude for my mom, and all she did for me growing up
I Love you mom.
So this is a picture of the finished product. Sorry it's kinda blurry
I took about 400 pictures in Idaho but their all on my mother-in-law's camera so
when I get them I'll post some.
We came home Christmas Eve
Dempsey loved Christmas morning, she loved her toys, it was so cute to watch her play with them. She loved eating the wrapping paper too!

We are so blessed to have such wonderful family
and friends to share the holiday with. We have so much many wonderful blessings.
We are so grateful for the gospel
and for our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas!
