Shopping

I Love Shopping
Chris Loves Shopping
So
It only makes sense that
Dempsey Loves Shopping too
And she does
This morning Demps and I ventured up to our Favorite mall {fashion place}
These are some of my favorite things
 about shopping with Dempsey
1. Stopping at every store window to admire its contents, esp. the ones with lights
2. Stopping in front of everystore with loud music playing to dance
3. Climbing in and out and in and out of your chair at the food court
4. Showing me every item she likes and, saying,"Look Mom, Cute"
5. Spotting and yelling, "Shoes" everytime we pass any shoes {mens, womens, kids, grandmas, etc.}
6. Eating Lunch - which for Dempsey consisted of French Fries,
Graham Crackers, and Lemonaide
{Everytime she'd take a drink she would make a sour face,
 but she kept drinking it. Funny}
7. Stopping to share your graham crackers with a random little girl in a stroller.
{I guess Dempsey thought she looked hungry}
Anytime you go anywhere with Dempsey, it's always an adventure
 However,
I LOVE LOVE LOVE going shopping with that girl,
and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that she LOVES it!

Dempsey found these perfect little chairs,
in between every store window
They were the the perfect little space for her

Such a Free Spirit...

It's always fun when Grandma comes

Last Week we got Grandma Nukaya all to ourselves for 4 days
What a treat!!
And we had a ball!!

What a Pair!We went to an Orem Owls Game
In order to keep dempsey from getting bored... we just give her lots of foodAnd in order to keep me from getting bored... They feed me lots of food!!
Like mother, Like daughter:)
We did lots of shopping, everytime she comes she spoils us big time!
We went to the Women's Expo
Went to the Zoo
Where we saw the baby elephants debue- cutest thing ever!
{right after we took this pic, I dropped my phone into the giraffe cage
luckily my brave strapping husband hopped over the fence and dodged a angry rampaging giraffe mother, risking his life to save my phone. Thank goodness for husbands}Rode the carouselAnd then we rode the train-
watch out for the one in the dark blue shirt- She spits:)

All in all, we had a GREAT weekend, and are so thankful to Jeanette for giving us a much needed visit, and for making sure all of our needs are taken care of! We are so grateful for all you do for us! We love you!

Stewart Falls

A few weeks ago, before school started
we decided to enjoy summer while we still could
and go on a little hike to Stewart Falls
Dempsey did pretty good, till halfway there when she decided she was tired of sitting in the backpack.....
Thank the Heavens for Fruit Snacks!
Once we got there and she could run around,
she was a happy little hiker.
This was about as close as I could get with Dempsey because
she was clawing on for dear life

Chris debated and debated over whether or not to get in the
Ice Cold Freezing Waterfall
so he would be cool on the hike back You can see what side won

Soaking Wet

But he was glad and cool on the hike back
and
I was sad and hot

Material Girl Part duex

It seems that along with bracelets,
we may also have developed a shoe fetish

These all seem alittle too big for you Dempsey
It warms my heart to see my her love shoes..... I loves shoes too!
PS These pics were taken by her aunt savanna and ken, so fun to have aunts to play shoe dress up:)
PSS Yes, in the last picture; Dempsey does look like a spitting image of Mochea(SP?) in Johnny Lingo

Material Girl

We still haven't gotten over our obsession of Jewelry

More specifically
Of Bracelets

{Looks pretty good I think}

A Piece of Cake

Does Life get any sweeter than eating a cupcake on your dad's lap?We think notOn Dempsey's 1st birthday, she didn't eat any of her cake
She just played in it, so we're glad to report that she now likes cake
-or anything sweet for that matter-
She's started to break everything she eats in half,
so she can have some in each hand
Everybody knows 2 is better than 1 :)

Today our sweet Sweet baby girl is 15 months old. Stats:
20 lbs 5th percentile
50th percentile for height
15th percentile for head size
We have loved every moment of the last 15 months.
She brings so much happiness that we never knew we could have. She is the queen of our household. She is a cheeto lover/addict. She is an awesome hug and kiss giver. She has the cutest little chubby legs-fingers-toes. She loves her daddy. She loves to play. She is a tough cookie. She growls like a tiger, and mooooo's like a cow. She can say titty-cat. She notices everything. She loves Ice Cream Cones. She loves to watch movies. She likes to shop. She is a doer. She brings smiles to those around her. She is and animal lover. She loves books. She really loves books. She doesn't like getting her picture taken. She loves to play in the dirt. She know how to be silly. She is our little piece of heaven.
We LOVE You

God's Country

Ever since we've been married, Chris has been trying to get me to go camping. And ever since we've been married I have been able to avoid going camping. So finally 3 years later, I finally gave in. We needed and vacation but I don't call camping a vacation because it is so much WORK. Nevertheless, we packed up our car, and headed up to Kilgore, Idaho. Lucky for us, Chris' grandparents let us take their trailor.
I was relieved because we were safe from all the Bears
As soon as we got up there and set up, I remembered what I had forgotten about camping; How nice it is to get away from everything, and just relax in the Beautiful wilderness.
Our Happy Little Camper

Dempsey loved sitting in the fold up chairs and she loved the fireDay 2:
Wake up
Play in Dirt
And this was pretty much Dempsey's routine for the rest of the trip. She even found this lovely little hole that was perfectly her size to sit it while she played with the dirt.We mostly relaxed during the morningWe forgot to bring Dempsey's little chair,
so Chris, being the boy scout his is, constructed this little chair out of his tacklebox.
It was the perfect height. We learned on this trip that Caterpillars can fly!
Well it seemed like they were flying, they would weave a little web and come down from the trees and it looked like they were flying. That afternoon we got some lovely visitors, Grandma Nukaya and TaylorChris and Taylor hit the stream first thing
What a lovely pairChris and Taylor cooking dinnerIt was nice for Dempsey to spend some time with Grandma,
since she doesn't get to see her very often. Day 3:
Hike to Aldous Lake
Catch us some Dinner
Well it didn't happen exactly like that, but we did hikeThe HikersSome of us Hiked, while others sleptBut we eventually made it and it was gorgeous!!We fishedGot SnaggedAnd watched for frogs and tadpolesbut Sadly we went home empty handed
However,
Lucky for us, Grandpa Nukaya came to visit that night
Day 4:
Relax, Relax, Relax
and of course fishWe had this cute little stream next to our camp and so we'd catch these little brookie trout. They were so cute, only 4 inches long, and they would bite like crazy. I don't know why but it was so fun catching them. Dempsey loved touching them and holding the little fishies.
Uncle Taylor found this little net by the stream
and Dempsey loved sifting the dirt through it.
She was quite the helper, firewood and allA wierd thing happened on this trip, I'm not sure if it was the fresh air or what but Dempsey actually gained somewhat of an appetite. She has always been a little bird eater, not having more than 5-6 bites of dinner. But up there she ate a TON. We are talking plate fulls of food. It was crazy! And ever since we got home, she's still eating. This is what we ate the last night,
Dutch Oven Pizza
It was so good and so easy, this will definately be a tradition
The only thing that was hard was getting Dempsey to sleep at nightShe had the whole bed downstairs to herself,
and once we got her to sleep she slept great....It was just the "getting her to sleep" part that was hardNext time we will definately be taking the pack and play
All in all it was a great trip, we are now an official Camping Family!!

See ya next year
